Rubbing Alcohol Compound |

Ethyl alcohol, or ethanol, the compound used almost exclusively in
massage treatment, has certain disadvantages. It irritates the skin by
rapid evaporation at room temperature. Because of this, there is
inadequate time for proper massage. There is also lack of lubricity in
most formulations with ethanol.
The following formulation provides a superior rubbing alcohol compound
Water/262 cc
Ethanol/1000 cc
"Polyox" Resin WSR-301/1 g |

Using high turbulence and low shear, disperse the "Polyox" resin in the ethanol and then slowly add the water to dissolve the resin.
"Polyox" resin contributes a small amount of viscosity and needed lubricity. The solution does not irritate the skin and it dries relatively slowly. |
